Leather . Nude. Prints . Oh My! Insight on the Three Essential Elements of Fall 2013 & Winter 2013!

****For starters--I'm SUPER sorry about this FIVE MONTH OLD overdue blog. I wanted to spellcheck it and kept pushing it off since July. Soooooooo sorry about that. But I finally found the time to spell check it so better late than never!***

Brrr!! New York, do you feel that ? It's around 70 something degrees today! So you know what that means--the Summer Season is signaling it's end! Fall is definitely planning on coming to us in a few months!

Yay! I love fall. Why?
Fall= Dancing on Crunchy Leaves!
Fall= Endless Layering!
Fall= Dark Tones!
Fall= Fur!
Fall= Leather!
Fall = Trendy Jackets and Trench Coats!

And most importantly of all--Fall equals fresh new Fashion! You should be excited to know that some looks from Summer 2013 have been incorporated into the new Fall 2013 line! Also some new trends have been thrown into the mix too! This season however you will be seeing 3 essential themes: Leather, Nude and Prints.

These gorgeous trends have been surfacing since Fall 2012 and gained a huger presence during the Spring 2013 session. Color wise in Fall 2012/Spring 2013/Summer 2013 many tops/dresses were featured in turquoise, coral, soft pink, nude and ivory. Although Turquoise and soft pink will still be around, fuchsia will take more ground during the winter time. Also , Coral will be facing it's last stand this season. Why? Because Coral is no longer the new red . Red, in fact ,has been slowly but steadily reclaiming it's rightful place as " The New Red". So just letting you know now--red will be making a serious comeback. Yaaaaay.

As always, I warn you lovely glamour girls to be careful not to dip too deeply into 1980s fashion this season ! With the ever outdated leggings lurking in the corners, the neon colored tights , the super big hair, the heavy make up, the digital and graffiti prints and Katy Perry music; it's not too hard to drift into T8DZ--- The 80s Danger Zone!

Popular 80s print brought to you by Keith Harding--ahh seeing it in 2013 makes my eyes burn ! But  it has been making the rounds in fashion-forward  stores who have no clue what to take and and what to leave from the 80s. MAJOR T8DZ print here!!!!Avoid!!

Girls, I have this problem as well . I'm far from perfect. And I often times get carried away by colorful colors and prints because the first part of my life I basically wore, well, lots of black. And not because I was trying to be goth, it was because I was kinda stuck in an ultra religious dress mode that I didn't realize until many years later. But I have a check method that I do in the mirror everyday! I look at what I'm wearing  and then I ask myself if I would wear the same outfit in the early 2000s, the era of teeny boppers, neon colored leather and N 'Sync. If I wouldn't be caught dead in it back then....I shouldn't be wearing it ten years later either! So try it out--if you feel like you walked outta some music video predating the "...One More Time" Britney Spears single, then you oughta rethink your look.

 Let the worst of the 80s stay in the 80s. Don't wear Keith Harding Graffiti Prints. Don't wear shoulder pads.  Don't combine orange and pink together. Ever. Don't wear too much make up --as in don't mix very dark with very dark or very bright with extreme bright unless you have porcelain colored or deep coffee-colored skin. It will only make sense with those complexions. . Don't wear leggings. Don't wear leggings. Oh, and one more thing--DON'T wear leggings (unless its purely for gym purposes). Don't go on a major crimping hair party. Keep it fun, colorful, cute , sexy and chic--and do it without messing around too much in T8DZ--The 80s Danger Zone. Remember this. Remember it all.

Thanks U Cuties for Keeping me fashion-focused and far from the T8DZ!
Speaking of the teeny bopper era, what can be noted fashion wise at that time was the insaaaane usage of leather--and we are destined to see such an explosive use of leather this current fashion season! Leather  is always in . And if the spiky, dark and dangerous direction in fashion that has been mirrored by jewelry , shoes and clothing tells us anything--it forecasts the return of leather everything.Leather sleeves on a cotton sweater, leather skirts, leather pants, leather crop tops--it is like a scene out of a 1990s movie! This leads us to leather discussion. Oh Joy! :)

# 2 Origami Skirt Awesomeness!

Origami. Leather. Skirts. Newest Trending Leather Look!

Leather-Covered Clad--and Kylie wearing the Orgami Skirt Look!
The Origami look is currently all the rage right now in the "new" leather skirt! Seen being worn by celebrities such as Kylie Jenner from the Kardashian clan; it's a clean cut, sophisticated & chic version of the short leather skirt. The folded angles brings the chic and sophistication, the cut and materials gives it clear lines of perfection!

Lady Gaga. Poker Face. Sculpted Shapes and
Angles all over her outfit .Work it!
It's a current piece that can be worn by both young and old! I am excited about it because I   love angles--a la the original Lady Gaga circa the Poker Face era-- I can't get enough of angles! Angles in clothing expresses attitude , daring and most importantly of all---artistic creativity! Yes, it's all the rage because how can it not be? This skirt is what fashion is all about--plus you can take it to the club with no problem at all!

Closer look at the Origami Skirt on Kylie Jenner!

Many will want this look. Many. But be warned--you need a fit, flat tummy and gorgeous, toned thighs to pull off this look to perfection! There's not much that a tight, little leather skirt like this can hide! So wear it with caution!

#3 The Classic Pencil Leather Skirt
Kim Kardashian doesn't allow pregnancy to prevent her
from sporting a sexy black leather pencil skirt!
Something that is in, always has been in and always will be in--the modest length pencil leather skirt. It's a thing now in fashion that modesty is very "in". This is great news for religious gals that wanna look trendy or everyday gals that want to combine their sexy with sophistication.  The leather pencil skirt is a joyous combination of the world of business and pleasure.

Jennifer Lopez modestly clad in a sexy leather pencil skirt!

Angelina Jolie, Michelle Williams, Jennifer Lopez, , they are all rocking the modest pencil skirt with style and sophistication! Look here how Glee's Santana rocks the modest length leather pencil skirt effortlessly. It covers all your goody areas but also makes them more appealing covered up than they were being shown off! It makes a girl with no bottom at all look voluptuous, it gives you that much needed hour glass figure, and ,even better, it gives you a healthy balance of sexy versus classy.

#  4 . Leather Patches, Leather strips ,Leather-Clad Arms-the new look for Tops this Season!

Generation 1
Leather Sleeve Top
Generation 2
Long Sleeve Leather
 Patch Arms Top
Let's start with the  long sleeve leather look. It's parent prototype was the short sleeve, draped top shown here in this picture. The look is effortlessly fresh and tough. Leather is a sign of strength,and as you can see with this lady in red, there is something about her look that will make you think twice about rumbling with her! This particular look is so empowering and gender neutral that even men have been spotted wearing this look! But it doesn't end with soft cotton tops---leather decorations are found on tops in different shapes and forms.

Turtle Neck Crop Tops
Featuring a black on black
 color-block version of the leather look
What's this? Leather strip
sleeves revealing several
teases of skin? Nice.

Thankfully we will continue to see the trend of turtle necks made of luscious leather girls! The look has been updated from last season with a slight color blocking effect. The gray on the black, the black on the gray, the black on the red, the black on army green--expect to see these unique color combinations for the leather color blocking effect. There will be many more versions of leather being incorporated into tops thankfully, and I am excited to take a sample of them all. I just love leather!

 Patterns: Old Trends, New Trends, Archaic Trends
Yes yes yes and YES Ms. Jessica Alba! Checkerboard Print
was sooooo in last season and still is seen today.

Hot girl. Terrible 80s print dress. T8DZ Alert!!!!
Prints are still in! Yaaaaaay! Girls, bold, bright and well defined prints have been  heavily dominating the fashion scene since last year. We saw the retro looks, we saw the lively polka dot prints, the zebra print,the black and white boxy prints ,the zig zag prints, the leopard prints, the funky flower prints, etc. We've even seen the horrid return of 1980s graffiti print.:(!!( Insert 1980s graffiti print).

Rawrrr ! Check out this Aztec Print Crop-Top.

Aztec Style Dress. So in now!
Anyways, we'e seen many types of prints take center stage on dresses, skirts, tops. Sooo many prints have been done that we have NO CHOICE but to take it back in time and sport the tribal look! From Native American, Aztec to Ancient Egyptian--the tribal look is so now!

Egyptian Style Prints that will be seen anywhere and everywhere really soon!

And I'm loving this gorgeous archaically ancient patterns rebirth in fashion! I've even been sporting my own Pharaoh-print skirt as can be seen below. You can find them as tops, crop tops, mini skirts, pencil skirts, floor length skirts, short dresses, long dresses, leather-incorporated dresses/tops/skirts (yes the world of leather has been successfully combined with this tribal/ancient print trends. Just wait and see!). So go crazy and be happy girls--prints are here to stay!
I'm sooo loving this Egyptian vibe.
Visually stunning print and fashion
forward at the same time.

Nude and Lace: Perfectly Cohesive and Autonomous

This glam Sherri Hill 21081 Dress is nude and fabulous. The nude look was incorporated into many Fall and Spring 2013 formal gowns .

Nude is appealing for many reasons. The first being the growing trend of showing more skin. The skirts are shorter these days . Tops are tighter . Sleeves are a rare feature these days on some major outfits .You know how it is today . The more skin you show , the "better" you look . It's what the media is loving, what we are putting out there and what some gals simply love! Its a growing trend in a types of clothing---formal to $20 dress.

Ah, Hollywood's obsession with
Nude is clearly a wide spread feeling!

There are spreads with celebs wearing a gorgeous nude gown and the like. Nude was established last year as a staple color in today's fashion. However, this version of nude this season will be more, how do we say--scandalous. It will be sheer nude outfits in places it should not be nude, it will show more naughty angles and "barely there" decorations. Nude will be toyed with and manipulated to create many optical illusions. But we all know the first one to toy around with nude as an outfit and she made a scandal while doing it to--the Ms. Infamous Britney Spears in her video "Toxic".

Jennifer Lopez wearing a
 nude suit in 2011.

Britney did it first. Toxic.
Year 2003.
It's Britney B**tch!

Check out Miley Cyrus in this photo from
two months ago in May 2013. I foresee
her running after the  naughty
nude trend since she
is obsessed with her whole new "Edgy" look.
Yup. Expect to see many people following this trend in your regular life and Hollywood life as well. Musical artists love to push the envelope in this age of scandal=more record sales. So yes, Katy Perry will still be doing it, so will Jennifer Lopez who always love to play around with skin and nude and possibly up and coming artists like Miley Cyrus who is taking on a more "controversial" look these days . Fashion mavens like  Kim Kardashian Paris Hilton to have fun toying with this naughty take on nude.

Katy Perry letting everyone know that
she is OBVIOUSLY wearing
a nude body suit that
barely covers her girly parts during the
2012 VMAs

For us non-celebrities, nude tops, bottoms and dresses will be sold to us in many retail stores. Don't expect Britney Spears-esque dramatic type of nude outfits--to go to that level you have to pay major money and snag yourself a Jovani or  a Sherri Hill dress.

Example of Lace-Nude Combination tops that will
be sold in most fashion forward
retail stores.

Where does lace come in you ask? Well lace and nude practically go hand in hand these days. Of course there will be lace tops in a variety of cool tones for the Fall 2013 era ( such as turquoise and fuchsia) but it also will be featured in the color nude! Lace is so feminine and can be transformed from vintage to edgy quickly if you have the right accesories. So whatever your look is, be sure to keep a cute lace top handy. Nude  in lace would be an excellent color to grab for Fall 2013 however. No pressure though. Just saying :).
